Executive Director, Product Strategy

Job Requirements:

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 20+ years varied and progressive experience in Cloud HCM and ERP technology and services organizations, with specific quota carrying experience in sales, consulting and advisory services required. Product management/strategy desired
  • Product management/strategy experience supporting deep product and business discussions with executive and functional audiences, across a global ecosystem
  • Proven ability to anticipate customer needs and convey those needs into actionable business requirements working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver and launch compelling content demonstrating the business value and differentiation of the Oracle Cloud HCM solutions
  • Expert experience developing relationships, building presence, and commanding respect with C-level Executives and area leaders internally and externally
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating and building consensus across multi-disciplinary teams including Product/Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Service, Support and Executives
  • Established ability to communicate Oracle’s HCM solution and Point-of-View in an advisory capacity; often challenging the status quo in executive meetings  
  • Confident delivering presentations at key conferences or executive events positioning Oracle Cloud HCM solutions
  • Ability to motivate cross-functional teams to produce quality results and drive ongoing change within demanding time frames  
  • Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of Oracle HCM product development and product management process
  • Excellent presentation skills and executive presence a must
  • Language – Fluent/native English written and spoken

 

BS or MS degree or equivalent experience in HCM or ERP. 15 + years of software engineering or related experience preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Content Creation and Story Telling

  • This role is responsible for working closely with internal partners across product strategy, product management engineering, demo services, UX including other global key stakeholders to drive the creation of compelling business value-based content and demo story telling for use by the HCM global field organization that ensures seamless collaboration amongst all stakeholders to consistently deliver great outcomes for customers/prospects and partners 
  • This role also serves as a liaison between product strategy/development and UX organizations to ensure the planning, creation and delivery of the content, demo storylines and competitive differentiation of Oracle Cloud HCM solutions for each product launch (currently 4x year) with a focus on creating the stories behind the value proposition and enabling the solution engineers to clearly articulate the “why” as the linchpin of customer conversations/demos with the  “how” as a secondary but still important focus 
  • In addition to developing the business value and storylines across the HCM suite, this role will coordinate with business leaders in other lines of business (ERP, EPM, technology teams within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, etc.) to ensure the value of Oracle HCM is integrated with and into the positioning and demo scenarios of the broader Oracle Cloud applications
  • This role will lead content creation spanning cross-suite functionality, product demo storyline guidance, competitive intelligence and articulation of the Cloud HCM organization’s vision and strategy; cross-Oracle Cloud positioning and industry specific messaging will also be supported
  • Ideal candidate will be an experienced software and technology advisor with strong knowledge of HCM market trends and competitors, outstanding communication and storytelling skills, proven ability to translate product investment into business value for clients. An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with the ability to move rapidly from high level vision to detailed execution is a must
  • This is a continuous process improvement role where content is continuously developed, reviewed and updated based on changing product capabilities and changing market dynamics to ensure Oracle Cloud HCM demonstrates unique value proposition to our prospects, customers and partners

 

Advocating & Input to Roadmaps

 

  • Working with the Solution Engineering team, this role will also participate in the periodic review of product/solution challenges adversely impacting the sales cycle and ensure review/feedback by the strategy/product management and engineering teams, ensuring that the voice of the customer (the SE team directly, prospects indirectly) is also driving future development roadmaps
  • Participate in monthly SE/Development calls to showcase new capabilities coming in the product to provide advance notice and collaboration with the field stakeholders
  • As a senior contributor of the strategy organization, provide input into the vision, strategy and roadmaps across the HCM suite, including product, partner, sales and marketing opportunities

 

Contributor to Marketing & Sales Cycles

 

  • Provide marketing support on a cross-suite basis to coordinate on-message, cross-suite content for sales plays, major events and executive promotional activities
  • Excellent presentation skills are a must to be successful in this position.  This role will be responsible for creating engaging presentation content targeted to external (prospects, customers, analysts, influencers) and internal (product, sales, solution consultants, development, other LOB) audiences
  • This role will serve as a Cloud HCM Strategy representative, positively impacting sales cycles by scripting engaging content for clients and prospects at all levels to build confidence and gain executive credibility during the sales process; this position is intended to be one of the approved primary spokespersons for the Cloud HCM offering
  • As part of a global team and a senior contributor of the strategy organization travel for in-person meetings to support sales deals and key conferences or events is required

 

 

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally. Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, techniques. Acts as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization*s long term objectives / strategy. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 12 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
