Job Description

This role will be responsible for the Project Management and delivery of significant size projects for a Utilities client. Reporting to the EMEA Practice Manager.

An experienced consulting professional who has a broad understanding of solutions, industry standard methodologies, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs multifaceted and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Responsibilities:

Prime responsibility is to lead the implementation of the Oracle Utilities product Customer- to-Meter (C2M) implementations for clients. This will involve all aspects of project management from project kick-off to closure and will involve spending significant time on site with the client.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • The Authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis within the constraints laid down.
  • Accountable for operational/financial metrics including budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Maintaining project profitability
  • Quality of project delivery
  • People management.
  • Planning and monitoring of project delivery using MS Project
  • Prepare project work products and maintain as per the project management methodology.
  • Resource planning and management
  • Presenting effectively both to internal and external partners
  • Project reporting during all project phases as per the reporting cadence
  • Management of risks and issues relating to the project.
  • Change Control and Configuration management
  • Working directly with the external customers

Industry and Technical knowledge:

  • Minimum of 10 years of client facing Project Management Experience for application development, implementation and software upgrade projects.
  • Experience of leading project teams in the order of 30 resources and around 6000 days, including substantial involvement of offshore development centre(s) and external subcontractors.
  • Experience of leading projects with budgets of $2 to $6 million of services.
  • Preference for Project Management with 5 years’ demonstrated ability in Utilities Industry (electricity, gas, water).
  • Preference for knowledge of Oracle Utilities products e.g. CCB/C2M.
  • Experience of delivering both fixed priced and time and materials projects.
  • Experience of leading subcontractors
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate optimally.
  • Ability to establish rapport with team members and clients.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices. Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.

6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
