Job Description

The laboratory of Jörn Coers at Duke University School of Medicine, Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate.  Our group studies infectious disease, innate immunity and inflammation (https://mgm.duke.edu/faculty-and-research/primary-faculty/jorn-coers-p hd/). A main interest of the lab is to understand interferon-regulated cell-autonomous immunity. Our research is multidisciplinary but relies most heavily on cell biological, immunological and genetic approaches as well as the mouse as a model organism.  


Requirements: 



  • Recent PhD in the life sciences (or expected completion of degree prior to starting the position)

  • Track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals

  • Expertise in at least one of these disciplines: immunology, cell biology, microbiology or biochemistry

  • Highly motivated

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A sense of humor (not required but preferred)
