Job Description

Mission and Responsibilities

The Communication Designer is responsible to create story of Sony brand and products, and its communication, as well as visualize abstract concept or/and ideas in both digital and analogue way. It also includes all Sony’s visual assets, corporate branding, products packaging, and marketing communication tools such as point of sales and event space design. The mission is to visualize and communicate Sony brand in creative way.

How we work ?

According to Sony Design philosophy and its art direction, we finally come up with “Sony Design”. Therefore co-work with other designers such as industrial designer, user interface designer, space designer very closely. Communication designer from time to time represents and communicate with client side. We introduced project driven style, but team-oriented operation. Respect each other, open feeling design studio and friendly team.

2.Work closely with HQ Creative Center. Field research together with global team.

Expectation

1.Able to understand & use a brand identity and create story for projects.

2.Understand marketing communication strategies and visualize abstract concept ideas into creative digital/analogue visual asset.

3.Create visual language together with other creative team timely

4.Appropriate and effective digital animation & rendering skills and the most effective technology hardware / software tools & methods to visualize. Must have the ability to manage timeline and demonstrate outputs professionally.

5.Balance technology opportunities and constraints. Implement the most effective approaches in time manner but in satisfied quality

6.Explore and research new creativity in the field work. Always catch the trend.

7.Find proper vendors, constructors or strategic partner, depend on the condition.

8.Tell the story, present and explain concepts logically to the business side.

9.Self-initiator, self-motivator. Find and share problem quickly. Solution proposal.

Profile & Skills

1.At least 3 years’ experience.

2.Masters / Bachelor’s degree in Communication/ Graphic Design/User Interface

3.Understand the development of marketing communication strategies.

4.Respect commercial partners and biz client and handle projects

5.Affinity with mass merchandising & consumer products and/or professional products.

6.Analytical & Conceptual skills

o Analyzing: information to form a relevant understanding of the design context

o Contextual understanding

o Concept creation

7.Experience working in a highly collaborative and speedy environment.

8.Experience space/interior design or GUI design - Advantage

9.Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the latest technology

10.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

o English is the daily language

o Japanese - Advantage

11.PC Skill, Mac and Windows are required to use. Familiar with smart devices

12.Software skills

o 3D Applications for modelling e.g. Rhino/SketchUp/ Cinema 4D

o Extensive Adobe experience. Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

o Digital animation and rendering skills: Aftereffect/any other ….

o Very Nice to have AR/VR contents creation skills such as Unity.
