ESL Jobs in Xiamen & Longyan

We are now in search of professional, fun & passionate ESL teachers to join our fantastic teams in Xiamen, Fuzhou, Shishi, Longyan, Jinjiang in the beautiful Fujian province and Wenzhou, Ningbo, in Zhejiang province in China. Our southern headquarters is based in Xiamen, and we have established flagship schools nationwide. We currently have 60 regular chain schools and all the schools are staffed by high-quality and responsible full-time teachers.

We teach a maximum of 26 hours a week, covering students aged from 3 to 12 years old. Our students are divided into different groups by their age and level. Our classes are small and co-taught by a foreign ESL teacher and a Chinese teacher, which enables our students to have the time and attention needed to reach their potential. Outside the classroom, we track our students’ development and learning needs. We keep in close contact with parents, keeping them up to date on their children’s progress and offering advice to improve further.

We also have a complete curriculum designed by education professionals for the Chinese market. We provide teachers’ guides, flashcards, props, the latest classroom technology and a very nice working environment, alongside staff who are dedicated to really helping children and supporting teachers’ needs. As an ESL teacher here, multiculturalism, respect for other nations and social skill development of our students are encouraged. You will be able to not only add new teaching skills and experience to your skillset, but also influence our future leaders.

Teach English in Xiamen

Located at the southeast coast of China, Xiamen is a tourist city of Fujian Province famous for its attractive seascape. The name of ‘Xiamen’ was consequently given, which means ‘a gate of China’. As one of the forerunners of the special economic zones of China, Xiamen mainly consisting of Xiamen Island, Gulangyu Island, the north bank area of the Jiulong River and Tong’an County, is connected with the mainland by the Xiamen Bridge. The city is well known for its beautiful natural scenery, fresh air and the clean environment.

Teach English in Longyan

Longyan is seated in western Fujian Province, bordered by Quanzhou and Sanming in east and north. Longyan is inhabited by the Hoklo and Hakka people. The Hoklo people live in the urban areas and cities of Xinluo and Zhangping districts in the eastern Longyan prefecture and speak Longyan Min while Hakka peasants live in rural village areas of the countryside of the western part of the prefecture. The Ting River is known as the “mother river” of the Hakka people. Longyan has a lot of beautiful mountains attractions such as the Guanzhai Mountain. Due to its striking beauty, it attracted countless poets & artists to leave a great many precious calligraphies and paintings at these sites.

Main Responsibilities

• Maximum of 26 working hours per week (teaching hours will vary for each school’s schedule)
• Wednesday to Sunday work schedule with Monday and Tuesday off
• Student age: 3 to 12 years old
• Deliver engaging, effective, learner-centered lessons to our young learner students
• Actively participate in professional development workshops and activities
• Learn & master our teaching materials

Compensation

• Excellent salary: 13,000 to 16,000 RMB per month after tax (depending on qualifications)
• Housing allowance: 1,500 RMB per month
• Assistance finding suitable accommodation
• Flight allowance: 6,000 RMB (provided on contract completion)
• All national holidays provided plus around 10 days spring vacation
• Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or South Africa
• 120 hour TEFL certificate required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL)
• 2 years teaching experience preferred (fresh graduates are also welcome to apply)
• Patient and passionate in teaching young learners
