We are currently looking for a data engineer to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for the tech & data products development, by improving existing products/components or building new products/components, to strengthening GroupM data-driven strategic planning and insights capabilities, better support GroupM business from tech & data prospective.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:
- Understand the positioning and the key values of [m]PLATFORM tech & data products as an agency tool and how they work technically in a detailed manner
- Finalize the technical and functional system design of the high priority product development projects and kick off the development
- Deliver 1 new tech & data product to the business
In six months:
- Take over all the tech components of [m]PLATFORM to ensure they all work from time to time and identify improvement opportunities
- Establish a good working relationship with both internal and external teams across local, regional and global
- Deliver 2 to 3 new tech & data products or components to the business
In 12 months:
- Take a technical and project management leadership role for resource planning, project management and stakeholder communication regarding progress, risk, plan, etc.
- Deliver at least 5 new tech & data products or components to the business
What your day job looks like at GroupM:
- Communicate with multiple internal and external parties, like global product team, local key subject matter experts, agencies, external technique vendors, external data partners etc.
- Local tech & data projects or components design, development, deployment and supporting
- Support local key subject matter experts for external technique communication, analysing or even quick POC
- Work with internal development resource from other business units for the products or components development, project management
What you’ll bring:
- Your experience on the big data/data warehouse development
- Your experience on the data visualization, data modelling and data mining
- Your passion on the media industry software development
- Your high self-learning and self-adaptive ability
Minimum qualifications:
- 1-3 years development experience on data visualization, data modelling and data mining on R or Python
- Experience with at least one BI platform development (Datorama, Tableau or Power BI)
- Ability to design reporting and data analysis models; deep understanding of data-driven business
- Be familiar with cloud platform (Aliyun, AWS, Azure etc.), AWS certification will be a plus
- Experience with HTML or SQL Scripting or JavaScript will be a plus
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of the online media/advertising marketplace will be a plus
- Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English
- Ability to work independently is absolutely essential
- Degrees in Computer Science preferred
