YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Virology Intern, are to: 

 

  • Perform independent research in the field of plant protein-protein interaction;
  • Characterize plant host factors implicated in disease proliferation;

  • Support pathogen infections in lab and growth chambers;

  • Be responsible for planning and executing statistically sound experiments, establishing and validating methods, and reporting on their findings in verbal and written form.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. or postdoctoral program in the field of Biochemistry or a program with expertise in protein interactions;
  • Expertise in the research area (pull downs, protein purification, and more modern techniques to monitor interactions such as SPR);
  • Be self-motivated, have strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate problem-solving abilities, and ability to build relationship in a team-based environment (both directly and remotely).
     

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Expertise in the area of pathology.
