Vehicle Artists are responsible for the creation of vehicles, weapons, and other specialized hard surface objects in styles ranging from photorealism to Sci-Fi genres. Vehicles have developed into a highly sought-after domain within our studio, from Need for Speed to Battlefront 2 and a whole host of future projects. Artists working on vehicles should be bursting with passion and energy for the subject matter, not only having the ability to create vehicles and other hard surface models but truly loving what you do.

Aesthetics /Art Skills
Form and Functionality
? A thorough understanding of all technical and mechanical aspects of vehicle/weapon creation allowing the models not only to aesthetically look correct but mechanically functional.
? A high level of expertise in hard surface modelling techniques s with an excellent sense of Form, Mass and Volume. Creating flawless shapes that capture light, shadows and reflections to convey the shapes of the subject.
? Expertise in creating highly detailed Licensed vehicles to exact manufacturer specs from CAD data and/or Reference images.
? A keen eye for Industrial Design
Color and Texturing
? A strong sense of weathering, dirt buildup, wear and damage and how it effects mechanical forms.
? Ability to expertly craft textures and shaders that accurately show the materials of the real-life subject matters.
Creativity and Design
? STRONG ability to understand and follow a concept art brief, CAD Data or reference images.
? PROFICIENT and self-motivated at researching and planning an asset before starting to model.
? Passion for pushing the state of the art in asset fidelity and production techniques.
? PROFICIENT ability to find additional reference to complement initial concept and reference material.
Art Critique and Vocabulary
? Is receptive to criticism and understands why iterations are needed.
? Able to review their own work based on given reference.
? Able to give constructive criticism to peers.
? Sufficient art and technical-specific vocabulary to be able to understand explanations, workflows and feedback.

- 能准确制作反映真实世界的贴图的材质。

- 能理解和表现概念设计,CAD模型,或参考照片。
- 主动且称职的研究模型,并设计制作过程。
- 对于推进模型的保真度,研究技术领域具有激情。
- 能寻找额外的参考来弥补最初的参考的不足。

- 乐于接受批评,理解为何需要反馈。
- 能基于参考审查自己的工作。

Types of Projects
Production Experience
? Has worked on more than two complete projects.
? The Vehicle artists should have a proven track record in the delivery of high performance, high quality 3D assets for AAA titles.
Scope Of Responsibility / Ownership
? Able to work independently and to produce high quality results.
? Able to take on a complex workflow, not just building a single asset but owning an entire end to end production of an asset (including Asset production, engine integration, customization, swappable parts etc.)
? Able to take ownership and propose visual and technical solutions to problems in their area.
? A Keen interest in pursuing better tools and processes for workflows and sharing with others in the team.

Technical Skills
3D Software Skills
? EXPERT 3D skills (Maya/MAX): Able to deliver excellent models with little to no iteration. (Correct proportions, accurate details, LOD accuracy, geo efficiency, etc.)
? STRONG 3D skills in the other package. (Maya/Max)
? PROFICIENT ZBrush (or similar) ability for working with organic shapes
? Aware of good modeling practices and avoids building inefficient models.
? Uses extra software or plugins (if available) to improve efficiency.
2D Software Skills
? STRONG skills with Photoshop and Substance painter.
? EXPERT texture skills: Able to deliver “clean” textures (Good color and clarity, correct style and sharpness, good tiling, etc.)
Texture and Shader Technique
? STRONG UV space and unwrap abilities.
? STRONG at reproducing various surface/material types.
? STRONG ability to create normal maps via different tools.
? PROFICIENT knowledge of ambient occlusion.
技术技能
3D 软件技能
- 专精3D软件,(Maya/Max),能递交高质量的模型,正确的比例,准确的细节,正确的LOD模型,模型合理高效等。
- 熟练的Zbrush技能,可以制作生物表面。
- 了解避免制作低效率的模型。
- 了解额外的软件插件。
2D软件技能
- Photoshop,Substance Painter熟练。
- 专家级的贴图技能,能提交准确的贴图结果。准确的色彩,风格,清晰度,等等。
贴图和材质
- UV知识充分
