The Vaccines Business Manager is a key member of the Intranasal Flu Vaccine Horizontal Market Team and plays a critical role in supporting AstraZeneca’s customer engagement model.

The Vaccines Business Manager will be responsible for engaging with customers in a way that supports the regional market focus on population health, centering on the highest potential business opportunities that will improve our impact on public health. Will work with the local market team to understand and identify customer needs, proactively align products and services, support pull-through activities relative to strategy, and ensure that AZ biologics is viewed as demonstrating value and better health outcomes to patients. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring all activities adhere to the spirit and letter of all AstraZeneca Policies and US Laws and Regulations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:       

Account Management/Intranasal Flu Vaccine Contracting: Understand multiple interdependencies within an account, consider customer healthcare goals and needs, and maximize account performance by building long-term relationships through collaborative business planning processes and approaches. This includes conducting customer business reviews with appropriate stakeholders, and discussing the financial impact of contracts, progress of targeted vaccine programs, and identified opportunities to improve customer benefits.

Sales Acumen: Build trust with customers and demonstrate value in selling situations to deliver high-quality engagements or interactions that deliver solutions with the common goal of improving health outcomes in pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations and across diverse customer segments that may include private (private health insurance) or public sector (government funded vaccines programs).

Customer Segmentation & Targeting: Divide customer population into customer segments that share similar characteristics and buying behaviors and apply this information to focus on groups effectively; allocate promotional resources; and drive execution of commercial plans for Independent Physicians, Health Systems and Public Accounts.

This is an account-based, single contributor role currently with no direct reports.

Essential Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree required; scientific/medical or business discipline is preferred
  • 4+ years proven successful experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical products and/or documented successful work history in account-based sales
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead without authority

Desirable Requirements:

  • Flu vaccines working knowledge and contracting experience
  • Public Health setting experience

Location:

Mid Atlantic – covering accounts in SC, NC, VA, MD, NJ.  Candidate must live in the covered states or immediate area.  70% travel, as necessary.
