Giving FACE-TO-FACE lecture for the Early Childhood Education Course to University students from September to December 2024
Total workload：32 periods (45 mins each) for one course

【Basic Requirements】
1.MUST have master degree or above, PHD preferred
2.At least one year RELEVANT teaching experience in university or college
3.Teaching in English, fluent English in speaking and writing
4.Require for exam preparation and marking
5.Teaching experience in China or other overseas countries preferred

【Basic Course information】
This module will begin by looking at what we mean by language and the social and historical processes which have allowed humans to develop speech. It will consider a number of different theories of language development including behaviourist, nativist and social constructionist theories. It will relate these theories to contemporary ideas in psychology, linguistics and neuroscience. The module will then look at competing theories around the way in which children develop literacy. It will critically consider contemporary government legislation on the teaching of literacy. The module will critically investigate the ways in which children learn to read and to write. The module will also look at the materials which children use for reading during the early years. This will include looking at baby books, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, folk tales, story books, picture books, children's fiction, children's readers and non-fiction.
