Job Description:
Position: University Lecturer
Subject-Content Area: English/ EAP/ other related courses
One-year contract: (Renewable)
Teaching Load: 12 -14 periods per week
Extracurricular Activities – 2 periods per week
Office Hours: None
Average Class Size: 45 (adult students)
Business hours: Normally M-F
Start Date: Feb 2024

Responsibilities:
As an English/EAP Lecturer at Huizhou University, you will:
•Deliver engaging and effective English language instruction to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
•Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans that align with the university's educational goals.
•Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and language development.
•Assess students' progress through a variety of evaluation methods, including exams, assignments, and presentations.
•Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their language skills.
•Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and teaching best practices.
•Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of EAP education.
•Contribute to the university's academic and cultural community through extracurricular activities and events.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the English EAP Lecturer, candidates must have:
•A Master's degree or higher in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
•A minimum of two years teaching experience in English/EAP at the college or university level.
•Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a native level.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•English-speaking certification desired, e.g. (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, DELTA, etc.)
•Cross-cultural sensitivity and an ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
•A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
•Familiarity with language teaching methodologies and technology-enhanced learning.
•Please, no applicants above 58 years of age due to visa/work permit restrictions
•Good health and enjoy teaching tertiary students.
•Respectful of Chinese culture and abide by local laws.
