Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will be responsible for improvement projects related to the utilities systems at ARI and supporting day-to-day operations to ensure a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost appropriate utility operations.

  • Obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) O+M v4.1 certification for AR6
    • LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system that provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. Obtaining a LEED certification is a symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.
      • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather, analyze, and present data prerequisites for AR6 O+M LEED v4.1 certification.
      • Utilize LEED point system to score AR6 in the five basic areas: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality.
      • Work to award points based on the extent various sustainable strategies are achieved in an effort to qualify for the highest attainable level of certification (Certified, Silver, Gold, or Platinum).
      • Collaborate with external supplier to furnish prerequisites required for LEED certification
      • Leverage available resources and work cross-functionally with teams to gather and explain information/data to LEED certifier.
      • Develop and execute communication plan for LEED site announcement.
      • Apply basic engineering principles and practices in support of daily operation and maintenance activities for site utility systems
  • Develop and own Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other engineering & operations related Quality documents for the department
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Provide troubleshooting support
  • Assist in audits and regulatory inspections
  • Proactively organize, analyze, and effectively communicate results
  • Support PI Vision Energy Management Dashboard project development

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria: 

18 years or older

Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

Degree concentration(s) in mechanical, facilities, and/or equipment engineering

Experience with OSIsoft PI Historian

Experience with LEED

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
