Technical Writer
Tasks and Responsibilities
l Collect input from product managers, project managers and designers, edit quick start guides and/or owner’s manuals in English;
l Work closely with Desktop Publishers to create user documentation and design layout;
l Communicate with product managers and R&D engineers in the improvement of the usability of documentation;
l Manage peer reviews to verify the user documentation;
l Drive continuous improvement of the company documentation process, methods, and tools.
l Coordinate and manage the translation projects involving translation agencies and multiple overseas proofreaders;
l Maintain smooth, effective communication internally and externally to guarantee the quality and on-time delivery of translation;
l Maintain the technical writing contents and translation deliverables.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, majoring in English, Electronic Engineering and other equivalents. Preferably native English speaker.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing and/or in technical translation;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Familiar with tools used in document creation, such as MS Office, Google Doc, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
- Familiar with consumer electronics terminologies and content management system.
- Willing to become a professional technical writer in long term.
