Job Description

Job Summary and Mission

This job contributes to Starbucks success by providing technical program leadership for Starbucks China on Channel & Food service business. The position provides leadership and subject matter expertise in product Research & development, Food safety, Quality assurance, and Regulatory compliance for Starbucks China, supports Channel & Food service partners in ensuring suppliers and distributors develop business through Starbucks system, meet Starbucks technical requirements and standards. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.


Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages the product technical information of ingredients/packaging/food contact materials, etc. to Food service partners, interacted with internal SMEs.
  • Manages the interface with food service partners to ensure Starbucks Food safety and quality requirements are implemented and met through Food service supply chain, conduct necessary verification
  • Analyze the complaint data to drive continuous improvement with Food service partners, Serve as technical contact point for crisis management & incident management
  • Develops and delivers effective communications to provide food service partners at all levels with appropriate awareness and knowledge of technical requirement, quality assurance standards, requirement and program.
  • Manage the database of all technical document for Ready-to-Drink in system


Summary of Experience

  • Progressive experience within a quality assurance department including product QA, supplier, distribution or international quality assurance
  • Gathers, records and reports on operational and quality metrics
  • Project management and implementation


Summary of Experience

  • Experiences in developing & implementing food safety programs and standards or manufacturer/supplier quality system and product quality - 10 year
  • Experience in managing food safety risks and systems - 10 years
  • Experience in development & implementation and/or operations of quality assurance - 7 years (advantage with experience in F&B / food service)

  • Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to project management and change management processes
  • Ability to lead or work as part of a team and inspire team members
  • Ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions and make recommendations to leadership team
  • Ability to assimilate new information quickly and react positively to new and challenging opportunities
  • Ability to make progress in spite of setbacks or lack of clarity
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional project and activities.
  • Ability and confidence to present quality assurance programs, results and continuous improvement opportunities to senior management at regional or market levels
  • Ability to solve quality and regulatory issues through data, processes, and influencing skills
  • Expert in food safety and food regulations
