It's your role, here's the part you can play: This internship position is part of our Power Technologies International (PTI) team. PTI is our trusted advisor that takes a holistic approach, providing business advisory, technical consulting, and simulation software solutions. Join us in our mission to enable grid operators, along with industry and infrastructure companies, to accelerate and secure this energy transition in a sustainable and profitable way. As a Technical Consultant Intern, you will work on exciting topics, including the application of power systems planning principles, simulation and analysis of power system steady state and dynamic behavior, development of mathematical models for reliability assessment of electrical networks, and delivery of on-site technical consulting/training services for both Transmission and Distribution levels. Furthermore, you will: Work on small to medium sized, single projects, in a single computer environment where design is semi-complex Design and analyze power system models and studies Conduct research on the processes and guidelines for load and generation interconnections to the power grid & new challenges for the future of the grid Be mentored by PTI power systems expert to optimize the processes & power system studies Prepare weekly status reports on all project activities Produce draft reports and presentations with study results for the review of supervisors Be part of our team, here's what's needed: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering with practical experience in using advanced power system analysis tools. Candidate should have knowledge of distribution or transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow, transient stability, and electromagnetic transients. Programming skills are preferred. Transmission Power System Simulation Software: PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL or PSLF is a plus, Distribution Power System Simulation Software: CYME, Synergi, Milsoft or OpenDSS/ GridLAB-D are plus, Programming languages: Python, C#, and VBA Microsoft utility applications This position allows remote work from within the US.
