Technical Application Scientist (m/f/d)
 
Location: Darmstadt

 
In the Life Science Research industry, there are highly qualified scientists called “Technical Application Scientists” (TAS). TAS from Thermo Fisher Scientific are sharing their expertise and technological advancements with researchers, helping them in making the world a better place — whether they’re discovering a cure for cancer, protecting the environment or making sure our food is safe.

The job is all about the customer and providing help and guidance. A satisfied customer with positive feedback for the support you have provided is worth more than anything else and ultimately a validation for the quality of your work. What will you do?

  • Provide technical support for Protein product lines and services, answering customer technical inquiries by utilizing all available resources, and escalation of issues when warranted
Provide customer support on technical issues by:
  • Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in Customer Relationship Management system
  • Summarize trends and technology as technical tips, FAQ’s and troubleshooting guides
  • Recommend changes to knowledge databases, website, and other company-managed databases of technical information
  • May present technical and product information at trade shows & in customer field visits
  • Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute to department meetings.
  • Participate in additional special team or individual projects
  • May be required to perform other related duties as opportunities arise

How will you get here?
  • A PhD. in Protein Biology or similar field with “Hands-on” Laboratory experience
  • Proven ability to quickly learn large amounts of new, complex technical information
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be customer-focused and a team player
  • FLUENT language skills in English AND German are MANDATORY, any additional languages are highly advantageous
