TEAM LEADER OF PACKAGING & MEDIA – SODIMAC S.A GLOBAL SOURCING

BACKGROUND

This person will be responsible for collecting artwork material from Sodimac suppliers, checking the quality of the material submit by vendors and overseeing the development of packaging and other packaging-related deliverables to support Sodimac private brands with Sodimac team and third parties. This person will be expected to solve business needs through smart design solutions in cooperation with Asia suppliers as well as with corporate packaging and media team.

Today our packaging and media team in Shanghai office supports the operation of projects such as Packaging right-sizing for Sodimac private labels (PBL), as well as private brand refreshment and migration, artwork development/design for Special buys programs.

Besides above mentioned projects our Packaging and media team provides support to our corporate marketing team based in Chile requesting and collecting with Asia suppliers product photography and attributes to be listed in our online channels.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and execute packaging projects and complete them correctly and in time according to the procedure in-house or with the support of design third parties based in China or in Chile corporate team.
• Set up and update packing project overview for status for each of the different projects handle by the packaging and media team in China.
• Hold regular meetings with team leaders based in Chile and related parties to drive project progress.
• Manage new packaging concept designs, especially in the concept creation phase ensure that all related parties are involved and all requirements are laid out.
• Facilitate discussions and reviews on different concepts to enable the concept decision making.
• Contribute to the road mapping/portfolio management process of the category/business by providing insights on future packaging solutions.
• Follow up package phase-in and out plan to make sure the process of changeover/write-off runs smoothly.
• Ensure Sodimac suppliers are trained and familiar with Sodimac private brands guidelines for packaging developments.
• Visit suppliers regularly to better understand and solve their problems, drive for continuous improvements.
• Actively support process improvements in packaging process
• Monitor the entire packaging development process
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, artwork design agencies as well as internal Merchandising Teams and Quality Assurance Team to ensure the accuracy and on-time artwork production.
• Maintain and upkeep brand concept consistency

• Plan, prioritize and execute multi-projects to ensure all schedules are maintained and fulfilled.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma in Graphic Design / Packaging Engineer with experience in Packaging for Supply Chain Management or related discipline
• At least 5 years experience in artwork co-ordination / project management / merchandising
• Knowledge in graphic design and e-commerce photography
• Solution orientated and good interpersonal skills
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, self-motivated and independent
• Good command of both spoken & written English & Chinese (including Mandarin), other languages such as Spanish are a plus
• Good in MS Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Outlook)
• Knowledge / experience in Program / Product management is preferred
