YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The purpose of this internship is to learn to build and improve interfaces to Biotech long term planning / supply chain optimization tools. Streamline existing excel user interface, and build interfaces to ERP / Business intelligence systems where possible.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Supply Chain Analytics Intern, are to: 

• Understand data available in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Advanced Planner & Optimizer (APO), Business Intelligence (BI) and SAP systems;
• Understand the ongoing development work in long term planning supply chain optimization in Bayer Pharmaceuticals;
• Develop ideas on how to connect the data from the systems to the optimization models;
• Understand key reporting metrics used in inventory planning ad long term planning;
• Understand current user interface to the models;
• Develop ideas on how to streamline the interface and implement the ideas;
• Learn and creatively apply visual tools to display input data and modeling results;
• Support Supply Chain Project managers in supply chain improvement projects with analytics and modeling.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Masters program with a focus in operations research or industrial engineering;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to present ideas and results to management;
• Data analysis abilities (databases, queries, tableau, advanced excel, etc.);
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Programming ability.
