Job Purpose:

Supervise and co-ordinate all production activities to meet manufacturing goals through efficient use of resources (i.e. manpower, materials, machines and methodologies) in a safe and healthy working environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following :

• Act as main co-coordinator for all the other Manufacturing Engineers in meeting all manufacturing goals and key performance indices.
• May need to perform shift duties to support production. May also need to supervise a team comprising Manufacturing Assistants (MA) in the day-to-day operations to achieve manufacturing goals.
• Ensure safety, discipline and housekeeping compliance by all personnel working in the clean-room.
• Ensure proper documentation and data integrity.
• Plan, strategize and monitor the movement of WIP (Work In Progress) and scheduled activities (e.g. machine preventive maintenance) for maximum throughput, minimum idle time and maintain line linearity/ balancing.
• Solicit engineering support to focus on process control and equipment performance.
• Handle/ resolve line issues and when necessary, escalate to the respective engineering group for disposition.
• Participate in improvement programs (e.g. cost reduction, capacity improvement, work efficiency improvement, etc.).
• Facilitate and lead QIT (Quality Improvement Team) to promote involvement of MA in improvement activities.
• Conduct/ arrange training for MA to develop skills for efficient manufacturing operations.

Education and Qualifications:

• Diploma in any engineering discipline

Experience:

• Min 3 years experience in a supervisory position, preferably in high volume manufacturing environment
