Requirements:
a) a recognized university degree in Social Work, Applied Psychology / Counselling or related subjects;
b) at least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification student-related working experience;
c) good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently;
d) proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (preferably with fluent Putonghua);
e) experience in career service, preferably with student-related project planning and proposal writing; and
f) demonstrated creativity in areas such as developing students’ employability skills and competence.
Interested parties with less relevant experience may be considered for the rank of Student Development Officer
Responsibilities:
a) lead Departments in the provision and development of student services and activities for students and in the pursuit and realization of the College’s Vision, Mission and Values;
b) ensure the implementation of the College’s quality assurance policy and procedures with regard to the provision of student services and activities;
c) co-ordinate and monitor the work of pastoral care and counselling, facilitate the provision of study and career guidance, help arrange extra-curricular activities and run student associations, advise and support in scholarship-related matters, etc.;
d) organize activities like student orientation programmes;
e) communicate with external authorities / organizations for funding student services projects;
f) report regularly to the Student Development Committee and relevant internal and external parties and prepare other documents as required; and
g) perform other ad hoc related duties as assigned.
Terms of Appointment:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment would normally be offered on a two-year contract basis with a possibility for renewal. Medical benefits and annual leave will be provided.
