Position Summary:

The Product Manufacturing Engineer will lead manufacturing/industrialization activities in the development of new golf club components. You will collaborate with our overseas suppliers to ensure the delivery of industry leading golf clubs utilizing cutting edge manufacturing techniques. You will troubleshoot and provide technical support to execute commercialization of our product as well as improve existing production processes. You’ll facilitate developmental prototype cycles and advance our manufacturing knowledge base and processes by leveraging your unique position within the supply chain.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

• Manage successful line plan launch execution at supply base as measured by part quality and volume availability per launch requirement across multiple product lines.
• Responsible for manufacturing execution to ensure product performance, conformance, durability, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Coordination of all tooling/prototypes/first articles and subsequent evaluation through manufacturing and testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including: Design, Development, Marketing, Sourcing, and Asia Manufacturing teams
• Perform design feasibility evaluations to ensure seamless transition into high volume manufacturing.
• Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
• Development of manufacturing instructions using manufacturing engineering practices.
• Perform product/process statistical analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency.
• Outgoing/Incoming product inspection verification.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing failures using sound engineering problem solving.
• Production support for component assembly. Contributes to establishing quality standards for suppliers and establishing sound engineering practices used by vendors to assure the delivery of high quality components.
• Ensure that accurate and controlled documents/specifications are generated for new product designs and manufacturing processes. Transfer engineering drawings to outside suppliers and necessary internal customers.
• Actively supports the ramp up of new production, and control quality through active engineering reporting, analysis, and corrective action at the supplier.
• Performs other responsibilities as required

Education, Work Experience and Professional Certifications:

• B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering
• Master’s degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing/engineering environment with a working knowledge of Metal Fabrication, DOE, Process Optimization, FMEA and Supplier Relations
• Experience working on individual and team projects with successful results

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Knowledge of fabrication methods including Casting, Forging, Forming, Machining, Stamping, and Injection Molding a plus. Metal Fabrication experience highly preferred.

・ Knowledge of cosmetic finishing processes including Plating, PVD, Painting, Powder Coating, Abrasive Polishing, and Media Blasting a plus

・ Knowledge of consumer goods and the Golf/Sporting Goods industry a plus

・ Knowledge of manufacturing tooling and fixture design/inspection a plus

・ Knowledge of computational tools including CAD, FEA, Programming Languages a plus

・ Self-Motivated having demonstrated initiative toward professional and personal growth

・ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to enable coordination of projects within departments and outside consultants.

・ Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Normal office and manufacturing floor conditions.

・ Domestic/International travel required.

・ Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.

In the spring of 1979 a golf equipment salesman named Gary Adams took out a $24,000 loan on his home and founded the TaylorMade Golf Company. He rented a 6,000 square-foot building that at one time housed a television assembly plant. Counting him, there were three employees and a single, innovative product: a 12-degree driver cast of stainless steel. This new metalwood looked and sounded different from a wooden wood, and most important, it performed differently.
