Within the context of the supply, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will work to drive the following objectives:

? Optimize costs while meeting Engineering and Product Management

Specifications/requirements (both current product and new product)

? Ensure consistent supply to EnerSys operations

This position will interact with numerous functions within the organization.

Specific duties of the Sourcing Manager include:

? Implementing EnerSys Strategic Sourcing process to identify, select and contract

EnerSys supply partners.

? Developing and implementing a Commodity strategy

? Establishing Supplier Development programs to maximize value from incumbents and to

Identify and establish alternative suppliers.

? Working with Product Management, Quality and Engineering with New Product Introduction

Projects.

? Developing a budget for their spend base (annual spend, savings targets)

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

? Successfully contracting suppliers to provide EnerSys with cost-optimized commodities

? Develop Commodity Strategy: Development and execution of long-term supply strategy,

Landed cost modeling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis,

Make/buy analyzes, negotiations and long-term contract establishment.

? Develop a solid working knowledge of certain commodity trends including:

Industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, material lead times, and

Technical/manufacturing processes.

? Establish Supplier Development processes including the coordination and support onsite

Supplier assessment / certification audits and continuous improvement activities that

Drive down total cost.

? Investigate and recommend new and/or alternate sources of supply as necessary to

Support new product development, cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier

Performance issues.

? Ensuring quality components are provided to EnerSys.

? Perform special projects as required in support of departmental objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

In addition to the previously described competency proficiency levels, a general overview of the

EnerSys Commodity Manager is as follows:

? Ideally + 10 years of experience in a purchasing and/or purchasing-related role; preferably

In a manufacturing environment

? Mandarin and working level English language skills (written and spoken).

? Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software including Excel, Word and

PowerPoint; MS Project experience is beneficial, but not required

? Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is a benefit

? University, College degree required; additional benefits with academic training in

Business, economics and/or engineering.
