Summary:
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Program Management R&D, and is responsible for program definition, leadership and communication across a portfolio of product development, sustaining or improvement projects in the Medication Delivery Global Business.
Responsibilities:
- Provide business and technical leadership for a major, high-complexity program within the Medication Delivery (MD) Business. The MD business is a core growth area providing infusion pumps, intravenous drugs, and administration and pharmacy preparation devices with over $2B sales annually.
- Lead cross functional scientific and technical teams in all aspects of project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure for a major compliance program.
- Provide leadership within the MD business and manage stakeholder expectations with regard to deliverables during the program
- Lead teams in timely resolution of complex problems, including development of technical solutions, project plans, resourcing plans and budgets
- Develop core team and project management capabilities across the organization.
- Comfortable influencing and communicating with senior leaders inside and outside the business unit.
- Work within the guidelines of project management, standard performance metrics, and regulatory guidelines to apply best practice Project Management skills, methodologies and standards (such as PMBOK).
- Establish, track and communicate project risks
- Manage all financial aspects of assigned projects, from initiation through close, which may include capital expenditures, functional expenses, and program positioning.
Collaborate with marketing, legal and purchasing to develop and negotiate contracts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related discipline plus 7 years project management experience. Desired: Master’s degree or equivalent in related discipline
- Minimum: 10 yrs. in product life cycle experience with demonstrated success leading multi-site, global or enterprise wide programs in the medical products industry.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred
- Self-motivated, good interpersonal skills, experienced in analyzing complex problems and in driving high performing teams.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices and Product Development Process requirements
- Strong leadership and financial acumen skills
- Proficient with scheduling software
- Proven product development experience
