Summary :

Applies a solid understanding of theories/practices utilized by other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise toward the development of new or enhanced products or processes.  Plans, executes and functionally directs important engineering assignments which require independent judgement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently (or cooperatively with a project manager) plans, schedules and leads cross-functional team in detailed phases of the engineering work in a large-scale program or several small projects with complex features.
• Functionally direct the efforts of other engineering staff members assigned. Develop through coaching and guidance the professional abilities.
• Technical problem solving and participation in manufacturing and technology transfer activities, for domestic and global manufacturing locations.
• Manufacturing Engineering support of projects, including: process improvements, material, design, process changes, design verification, cost-of-goods, and manufacturing trials.
• Generation of technical documentation (e.g. protocols, reports, change controls, new product development) in support of project deliverables and requirements.
• Challenge ideas, philosophies, colleagues and status quo to lead an environment of continuous improvement.
• Supports and sustains a product family as Product Design Owner (PDO) and/or Product Risk Management Owner (PRMO).

B.S. in Engineering (Mechanics, Physics or Chemistry) and 10 years in Medical Product Development/Support.

Demonstrate success in delivering results on several technical challenges.
