Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional project teams through the planning, execution, and planning of process improvement projects. Define scope of work; manage a variety of complex issues in associated projects, plans and schedules.
- Lead and execute projects supporting Risk Based Life Cycle Management (RBLCM) system. Support manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives for solution container and disposable products. Includes technical problem solving and product/manufacturing process characterization with a cross-functional team.
- Utilize engineering tools (e.g. DMAIC, FMEA, Design of Experiments, Statistical Analysis, etc.) to address product continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes at domestic and global locations.
- Lead projects within Baxter’s change control management (CCM) process, from initiation through closure. Typical change control projects include; qualification of supplier changes (SNC), quality and value improvements (VIP), manufacturing issue resolution, and new equipment qualification. Change Owners must assign and prepare impact assessments, develop change plans, write and execute engineering studies, develop detailed project schedules, while working closely with manufacturing plants, Quality, Regulatory, suppliers, and various scientific/technical groups. Communicate project and task status to project team members, management, and stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Provide Manufacturing Engineering support, including process improvements, material, design, and product/process changes, design verification, and manufacturing trials.
- Approve protocols and support documentation(engineering change requests, system change forms, etc.) in order to secure project release.
- Review and analyze proposals to determine benefit/cost. Prepare project cost estimates. Monitor project expenditures and cost tracking.
- Set policy and define procedures for staff in accomplishing and documenting projects, including Enterprise Management System (EMS)
Qualifications
- Must not be allergic to Penicillin or Cephalosporins
- Engineering Degree, Minimum B.S. and 10-12 years related experience, or M.S. and 6-8 years related experience.
- Proven leadership skills and engineering problem solving ability.
- Ability to apply statistical and engineering techniques to solve complex problems.
- Skills and aptitude to support troubleshooting of equipment and manufacturing processes; Green or Black belt preferred.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with plastic and rubber materials, and solutions manufacturing processes.
- Ability to effectively operate within, facilitate, and lead cross functional teams.
- Ability to present and communicate results and recommendations to project teams and decision makers.
- Ability to balance theoretical knowledge with empirical results.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in a strictly regulated industry.
- Successful track record of managing wide-ranging activities within the business unit.
- Demonstrated effective management skills.
