Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital US Region role, you will oversee the implementation and sustainability of the third-Party Logistic Service Provider (LSP) that will support and advance the distribution operation at Amgen's Louisville Distribution Center (LDC). 

 

The Sr. Manager ensures regulatory compliance for area of responsibility, and that all work is completed per cGMP, OSHA and all Amgen policies and regulations. Integral to this role will be the responsibility to build and manage good relationships by reinforcing processes and relationships with Logistic Service Provider(s), Amgen sites and the LDC. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Safety compliance. 

  • Utilizes project management skills to support LSP integration and continuous operations. 

  • Understand and execute Operations Excellence activities to improve business processes.  

  • Collaborate with the LSP to ensure adherence to service levels, identifying performance improvement opportunities in alignment with the Operations READ framework (reliability, efficiency, agility, differentiation) 

  • Identify and oversee implementation of new or improved compliance and business systems and tools.  

  • Responsible for business continuity for services and areas of responsibility.  

  • Partner with key internal customer groups and/or outside vendors to ensure successful operations. 

  • Conduct quarterly Amgen business reviews and address service failures with the LSP. 

  • Ensure that metric targets are achieved and establish standardized mechanisms to measure progress against targets. 

  • Lead/participate in business decision impacting US Market and/or LDC operations. 

  • Understand and incorporate risk management strategy into overall supply chain strategy for delivery of product. 

  • Ensure compliance with required training for staff supporting Amgen business. 

  • Leads overview of LSP business with input from US Market and/or Louisville Distribution Center team. 

  • Manage quality records related to LSP Operations (i.e., inventory, compliance, distribution). 

  • Prepare for and support regulatory inspections and audits. 

  • Revise, update, review and approve procedures.

  • Manage the development and revision of SOPs.

  • Interact with the FDA and other governmental inspection agencies 

  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, and training to staff and partner groups.

What we expect of you 

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Supply Chain, Warehousing or Distribution experience OR 
  • Master’s degree and 6 years of Supply Chain, Warehousing or Distribution experience  OR 
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Supply Chain, Warehousing or Distribution experience  OR 
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Supply Chain, Warehousing or Distribution experience OR 
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Supply Chain, Warehousing or Distribution experience AND 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

  • Experience managing and/or operating 3rd party logistics service providers 

  • Ability to liaise/communicate effectively and easily with cross-functional teams and different cultures (excellent written and verbal communication skills) 

  • Experience with information systems: ERP-SAP (Order to Cash) 

  • Demonstrated success in Operational Excellence and major change management initiatives 

  • Self-leadership and motivation
