Summary:

This position, reporting to the Head of Global Trade, will oversee the day-to-day operations of Baxter Export Corporation, an internal trading company responsible for the coordination of export shipments from the US and Puerto Rico.  This includes intercompany order management, international logistics, trade and customs compliance, customer service and back office/systems support (Order to Cash).  Responsible for development and execution of operational strategy and project portfolio to drive process improvements, accelerate innovation and deliver business results. Manages a team of 30+ direct and indirect reports, including mangers, supervisors and exempt specialized employees.

Responsibilities:
1. Leads all functions of the operations (i.e. logistics, order management and customer service) to ensure that internal customers receive the best possible service at the most effective cost.

2. Oversees relationship with customers, distribution & logistics, planning, warehousing, transportation, accounting, and external vendors and acts as a point of escalation to resolve issues with order/shipment status, production, delivery and billing inquiries.

3. Ensures processes are in place to maintain compliance with established internal policies and practices, as well as global trade and related regulatory requirements.

4. Develops the function's budgets, key imperatives, and strategic plans. Evaluates various alternatives and makes the decision to ensure the business and customer needs are met.

5. Analyze large amounts of data, manage KPIs and define tactics to reach our monthly, quarterly and yearly goals

6. Accountable for overseeing that functional talent management objectives are met. Develops plans to handle resource and staffing issues. May be actively involved in recruiting, selection and staffing of teams. Additionally, sets the functional key performance indicators and the overall functional performance objectives. Handles escalated HR issues.

7. Business sponsor for strategic business imperatives. Drives long-term planning and vision. Deploys strategy within operations and attains buy-in.

8. Proactively pursues innovative ways to manage the business, acts as a change agent, and eliminates inefficiencies while reducing costs.

• Strong leadership with the ability to garner support and influence action

• People management with the ability to remain productive and connected in a flexible work environment 
• Results driven with the ability to prioritize major strategic initiatives and balance with day to day accountabilities
• Must be able to think innovatively and strategically
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree with minimum 5 - 8 years management experience within Global Trade, International Logistics, Import/Export, International Customer Service or similar.
