Summary
- Responsible for leading all operations accounting and finance activities for Baxter's manufacturing facility in Opelika, Alabama
- This plant is a critical facility for Baxter, having recently undergone a significant capacity expansion
- The Sr. Manager is a key member of the local Sr Leadership Team, and regularly interacts with Regional/Cluster management as well as Global Operations management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner across the plant to achieve financial objectives
- Support all Financial related activities of the manufacturing process
- Partner with operations to ensure achievement of financial commitments of manufacturing organizations
- Collaborate across plant and region to drive cost improvements
- Lead the comprehensive Manufacturing Plant planning and reporting processes - quarterly forecasts, operating plans, monthly spending analysis, and weekly estimates to plans/forecasts
- Manage proactive weekly and monthly analysis on present performance to budget and forecast and work cross-functionally to ID and develop actions to recover financial misses
- Manage and Develop a staff of 3
- Provide financial modeling / business decision support on all plant investments and new business initiatives
- Manage / ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and coordinate any financial audit events
- Support plant capacity reviews/analysis and VIP initiatives
- Lead working capital and capital spending initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting (or country equivalent)
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- Demonstration of key finance competencies, qualifications and leadership capabilities with 10 or more years of experience with emphasis in cost accounting and budgeting
- History of collaborating with non-finance executives & leaders to achieve financial goals
- Experience leading cost accounting, financial reporting and budgeting/forecasting activities
- Experience with managing and developing others
- Ability to effectively analyze and present information
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to successfully achieve deadlines
- Comfortable working in different systems such as ERP software (SAP/JDE) and experience in Excel, Power Point, Word
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
- Competent in business performance management, financial analysis and decision support
