Summary
- Participate in and contribute to all phases of systems development, including specification, programming, maintenance, client training, data conversion and testing while achieving the successful development and implementation of the client's business systems.
- Create or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer applications and technology. Resolve complex business/technical issues. Focus on continued development of analytical skills.
- Provide process development, design high-quality systems in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards.
- Provide technical consulting and support in computer systems and technology under minimal supervision, in one or more of the following technical areas:
- System programming, systems databases, monitoring, testing, deployment, and input to the design of these environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in and contribute to medium size projects, own assigned tasks, produce time estimates and detailed specifications for assigned tasks, demonstrate increased business knowledge, resolve increasingly complex problems.Requires moderate direction, starts to direct others and possesses solid knowledge of SDLC
- Participate in all phases of system development life cycle (define program requirements, code, test, debug, and document) with moderate guidance, following SDLC processes, application processes and quality validation (when appropriate
- Develop time estimates for assigned tasks.
- Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written by either the incumbent or others.
- Develop testing requirements, prepare and document test data for unit and system testing.
- Provide support for production systems.Use problem-solving skills to assist in resolution of business problems.
- Develop analytical skills to resolve technical problems.Identify root causes for problems and propose solutions to prevent recurring problems.
- Develop business or functional knowledge by responding to and resolving increasingly complex user questions, problems and inquiries.
- Develop solid understanding of the application infrastructure and SDLC.
- Performs systems analysis, and ability to solve programming problems.
- Programming and job flow specifications to produce meanings and efficient logic programs.
- Maintains and develops systems interfaces (JDE, SCADA/HMI, Maximo).
- Support users from RLDD and RLN facilities.
- PC Troubleshooting.
- Capable to read, analyze and understand programs and system bugs.
- Should be able to work with many projects and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- Should be able to work holidays, extra hours and at any shift when requested (e.g. shutdowns, troubleshooting new systems, implement new systems).
- Must be able to work in an environment that encourages teamwork.
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Active participation in Plant teams, when requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
- Must have 5+ years of system experience in developing or supporting applications
- Experience in a regulated environment preferred
- Experience creating dashboards
- Process Control Experience Preferred
- Strong, structured programming skills in technologies used and experience in all phases of systems development.
- Solid technical background in Tableau, SQL, DB2, Oracle,
- Solid analysis and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of SDLC principals and ability to apply them to system development or maintenance (where applicable) and quality principals (where applicable.)
- Must be a solid team player, able to meet deadlines and handle changing priorities
