You will have a great opportunity to lead with your functional skills driving intellectual property, brand protection legislation and awareness programs, advocating for stronger and safer eco-systems for LEGO play experiences, and contributing directly to one of the strategic priorities of the LEGO Group.

Core Responsibilities
As the Manager, Govt and Public Affairs with a focus on brand protection and intellectual property awareness, you will play a strategic and unique role in identifying the right external stakeholders and government decisionmakers for engagement; developing and driving consistent programming for awareness and capacity building with government and industry stakeholders. You will create opportunities for the LEGO group to drive stronger enforcement against infringers of our play experiences in PR China. You will work closely with the head of China government affairs, counterparts in other regions and cross functionally with legal, product compliance and commercial teams to help drive the brand protection agenda for the LEGO Group.

  • Identify and engage the right external stakeholders and government decisionmakers to drive the brand protection agenda in China.
  • Track legislation and public policy trends on intellectual property and brand protection in China.
  • Develop and drive consistent programming for awareness and capacity building with government and industry stakeholders.
  • Create opportunities for the LEGO Group to drive stronger enforcement against infringers of our play experiences across the country
  • Collaborate closely cross functionally to ensure the right positioning and representation of the brand.
  • Work with international team in Europe, US and APAC

The Government and Public Affairs team supports the LEGO group’s mission of reaching millions of children globally by enabling our company’s reputational and legal license to operate.
The team also supports commercial performance through effective risk and issues management in the countries we operate in. In addition, the team advocates for international eco-systems that enable children to learn through play.

The GPA China team focuses on China specific related business priorities and delivers impact through driving market specific government and public affairs plans to enable operating stability, market access and to identify new opportunities for the commercial team, LEGO Education and LEGO Foundation in collaboration with the other relevant functions.

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for the LEGO brand and a strong drive to engage with external and internal stakeholders to help the LEGO group achieve its strategic objectives in China. You will be a self-starter, with a passion for delivering results and an ability to connect the dots and think strategically. You have high integrity and will always do what’s right for the LEGO group and our primary stakeholders- children. You have a great network, enjoy partnering with government and related stakeholders and are a strong communicator.

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in public policy, government affairs, political science, law or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 6-8 years in driving government and public affairs programs with global organizations or government institutions. Preference for prior experience in intellectual property issues and experience in China.
  • You are fluent in Chinese and English.
  • You like working with technology and also have experience in data analysis
  • You have experience in driving programs and travelling to multiple jurisdictions
