Job Description
Sr. DevOps Engineer/ Team Lead Work as a senior engineer/ technical lead on the DevOps transformation team to enable all teams in Asset Servicing to onboard to our DevOps tools and embrace the DevOps culture. Must be passionate about DevOps and understand the value of implementing DevOps across an organization. Partner with the application development teams who primarily use .NET, Java, Ruby and Angular to design and implement scalable, high performance automation solutions for build, deployment, testing and management tools. You must have understanding as a Developer in one or more of these technologies. Assist app teams to debug and/or maintain automation processes and tools Design, implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation scripts Provide automation tooling and integrations with tools to satisfy the needs of the organization Drive teams to execute tasks in line with organization strategy and vision Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Provides application software development services or technical support in more complex situations. Has thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. May allocate/ coordinate work within a team/project. The job holder leads the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. S/he analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interfaces with other systems. S/he also ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation and documentation. Additional requirements include intermediate understanding of security principles, relational databases and architecture design principles. Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code. Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Ensure software is updated with latest features. Complete all required mandatory training / policy awareness curricula on time. Collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions. Utilize local meetups to gain and share knowledge. Acts as mentor to junior level engineers. Prior experience with using a specific application development toolkit and knowledge of front end and backend development coding languages. Communications and organization skills; team work skills Contributes to the achievement of area objectives “Corporate job title once hired will be Sr. Specialist Full Stack Developer” Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 7-9 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. Job holder must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits. Experience and Skills Solid Python skills are a must and experience with one or more common scripting languages (Ruby, Bash, Perl etc) 7-9+ years of experience as a developer with one or more of the following tech stacks (.NET, Java, Angular, Ruby) Strong understanding and ability to implement DevOps best practices Proficiency with infrastructure automation toolkit including but not limited to Jenkins, Gitlab, Ansible, Puppet, Chef or similar Knowledge of Cloud Computing technologies (Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure Cloud Services), network monitoring, data processing and analytics Knowledge of full SDLC best practices as well as familiarity with CI/CD concepts Experience working in an Agile environment BNY Mellon is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
