The Senior Clinical Oncology Specialist (Sr. COS) position is a clinical sales role utilizing clinical oncology experience and expertise to support the sale of Amgen’s Oncology treatments.  The Sr. COS is a strategic partner with the District Sales Manager and Senior Oncology Specialist to formulate and execute a plan of action to ensure that all appropriate patients are identified to receive and adhere to Amgen products.  Accomplished through delivering approved marketing messages, strategic customer education, and implementing processes for appropriate patient identification and treatment management.  The Sr. COS will be evaluated and bonused appropriately on district sales results, conveyance of Amgen values, and role competencies. The Sr. COS reports to the District Sales Manager and has a dotted line report to the Manager of Sr. Clinical Oncology Specialists.  The Sr. COS’s primary customers are Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists and other health care providers.

Candidates have excellent communication and presentation skills, are strategic and forward thinking, effectively work in teams and are autonomous self-starter, experience in business analysis and have a command of Oncology and Healthcare business trends.  The ideal candidate will have previous experience in positions such as Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, Research Nurse, or other Oncology clinical positions. Active as an OCN Oncology Clinical Nurse or ACON Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse. Demonstrate oncology clinical & medical expertise, effective partnership with sales force, and excellent communication and presentation skills. Local Market knowledge is also preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Oncology Nursing / Clinical experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 6 years of Oncology Nursing / Clinical experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Oncology Nursing / Clinical experience

AND

RN or Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s or Bachelor's Degree and RN with 3 or more years health care industry experience OCN/OCS Certified, Nursing Certification in applicable field preferred and 2 years of Sales experience

Hematology experience preferred
