Summary
The Transportation Sr. Analyst will manage systems and information to support the logistics team and will be responsible for the optimization of the current logistics systems, processes/analysis, and people. The focus will be on continually looking ahead to recommend future state, mitigate risk, and drive optimization, while actively managing day to day transportation operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Leverage technology and maintain automated systems to drive department objectives.
- Lead design, configuration, implementation, and support of third party transportation management system.
- Optimize software and processes to take advantage of best practices.
- Develop and manage business tools and solutions based on industry and business knowledge, product or technology and identify logistics process improvements.
- Collaborate with team members, internal customers, and external partners to actively lead and support cross functional initiatives to drive improved business performance.
- Manage data quality through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis and/or problem analysis.
- Develop and manage/maintain savings initiatives, cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models. Develop policies and procedures to ensure cost control.
- Forecasting and budgeting; overall drive planning and strategically how to achieve budget.
- Implement and participate in the development of transportation strategies and tactics to achieve Baxter’s objectives.
- Liaise with sales, customer service, suppliers, and other Baxter businesses to drive results.
Qualifications.
- 3-5 years of experience in relevant field.
- Demonstrated ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization and function as a liaison with internal and external customers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Proven analytical ability and analytical skills, transportation experience, negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to individuals, small groups, and executive leadership
- Experience with a transport management and freight pay and audit systems.
- Ability to envision, lead, and manage projects
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically MS Excel and MS Access
- Ability to work in a complex environment through strong leadership and organization
Education and/or Experience.
Bachelors degree, supply chain/logistics field preferred.
