Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic individual that will be a key contributor to the availability, scalability, and security of the Eagle ACCESS Secure Private Cloud offering, Eagle’s Software as a Service deployment model, servicing the largest firms in the Financial Services industry. He/she will be responsible for automating key infrastructure operations driving greater efficiency and a superior client experience. The individual will be required to gain a broad understanding of key infrastructure operations, and by taking a metrics driven approach, prioritize the development and deployment of new code in order to automate daily operational activities. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for providing service management for Eagle ACCESS Storage Services. The individual will help drive strategy, design, build, and support all storage infrastructure within both private and public clouds environments. The individual will be expected to collaborate with stakeholders, mentor colleagues, and anticipate future service needs. He/she will both design and ensure adherence to processes, procedures, and standards. Finally, the individual will participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and is expected to be a driving force in providing industry leading quality of service. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and put client focus and experience at the front of everything they do. Responsibilities Maintain proficiency with modern infrastructure (both private and public) and common DevOps methods, technologies, and languages Engineer code to automate IT infrastructure operations Drive enhancements from concept to final implementation. Participate in the creation and enhancement of standards and development practices. Design, build, deploy and support platforms and tools across the Eagle Cloud Platform Participate in 24x7x365 OnCall rotation and assist in resolving issues, outside normal business hours. Contributes to developing and monitoring the organization's technology architecture and future technology vision. Develops reports in conjunction with the Fellow Architect which demonstrate business opportunities and road map strategies that add business value. Drafts proposals on infrastructure architecture needs for M&A activity, and supports the creation of executive summaries. This person is a subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/techologies used in the space. Conducts and leads analysis to correct systems, applications, software, and hardware that are not compliant with Corporate policy/procedures. Works closely with external vendors, internal teams and business partners on large infrastructure engineering projects. Provides input and recommends processes in developing project plans. Monitors project progress and provides regular status reports to management team. Works closely with Application Development and Quality Assurance and Testing teams to understand infrastructure needs during the development and testing processes. Applies IT expertise in strategizing how to best develop infrastructure that will allow development and testing processes to be secure and efficient. Evaluates the effectiveness of the organization's existing infrastructure technology. Stays informed of current industry trends and emerging technologies. Researches and analyzes trends to recommend and implement upgrades that enhance the reliability and efficiency of the IT infrastructure. Performs more complex production support tasks. Automates basic manual processes. Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives Qualifications Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred 6-8 years of related experience required Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus Proven ability to code/script in one or more languages (examples, Python, Perl, Java) Experience developing and leveraging API’s (JSON, REST) to solve IT or business challenges Has used common DevOPs tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Rundeck Worked with both infrastructure virtualization technologies (VMware, OpenStack, Hyper-V) as well as Containers (Docker) Experience with multiple Operating systems; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and device drivers, filesystem concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions). Ability to work and communicate effectively with remote teams. Proactive, independent problem-solver, open to being challenged and willing to continuously learn and improve. Additional Skills that Would be Beneficial Experience with Relational Databases (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Hadoop). 3+ years of SAN/NAS storage administration experience. Experience working in Public Clouds (Azure, AWS, Google) A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. Or equivalent experience. Knowledge or experience with IT Service Management, system monitoring and analysis, and disaster recovery concepts ITILv3 Certification and/or experience with ServiceNow Network switch or router administration (CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate). Experience with SAN zoning, LUN masking, Storage array configuration, I/O tuning and troubleshooting Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (Jira, Git, Confluence) At least 5 years working in IT operations supporting critical systems / infrastructure At least 2 years hands on experience developing applications or scripts BNY Mellon is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
