The Sourcing Engineer will lead efforts in exploring, initiating, developing, and validating opportunities in quality improvements and cost savings and other supply chain related opportunities. The individual in this role will act as the technical interface between suppliers and development/ manufacturing engineers to determine new and alternate sources.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Review supplier’s processes and identify improvement opportunities in processes and systems at supplier locations to improve quality, cost and flow of supplied materials throughout the entire supply chain

• Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides competitive advantage in quality, value/cost, delivery and technology.

• Conduct supplier system and process audits in compliance with Welbilt’s supplier performance and monitoring goals and objectives.

• Support day-to-day activities addressing issues and support of Receiving Inspection department.

• Working closely with production department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employee.

• Capable of researching new manufacturing technologies, working in collaboration with the R&D Department that can be later used for quality/cost improvements

• Assist with quality problem resolutions.

• Responsible to issue all required documents according to the company's sourcing management process.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• BS in Engineering or Technical Degree with equivalent experience

• Engineering discipline with concentration on Supplier Quality.

• 5 - 7 years of experience in a similar position preferably in a foreign enterprise

• English and Mandarin fluent

• Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and in implementation techniques

• Knowledge of ISO and other recognized international quality system standards

• Experience with plastic injection molding in different materials.

• Experience with metal sheet forming with steels by laser cutting, CNC punching, bending, welding …etc.

• Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience

• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly regulated environment

• Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems and use good judgment

• CAD knowledge mostly for check parts and/or assemblies, preferably Solidworks or Solid Edge.

• Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time, both domestically and internationally
