As Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Virtual Reality continue to boom in the industry, at Bing we are deeply investing in building Computer Vision capabilities to power the products of the future. We are looking for talented people to join our Computer Vision Sciences team that builds computer vision intelligence, deep image understanding cloud services, visual search, and client applications for visual search/innovative fun scenarios in search, conversation, apps etc. products. You will push the frontier of computer vision by harnessing the billions of images and videos in bing.com, the massive volume of user signals, and large-scale computation capabilities to deliver capabilities that features across the bing.com, Azure, Office and Window products.

Applicants will:

1. Work on vision-related research and development on computer vision tasks focused on visual annotation, content-based image retrieval, for both image and videos.

2. Design and develop image classification, annotation, object detection, clustering, ranking algorithms.

3. Design and develop large scale data collection and processing modules.

4. Large scale user data analysis and product A/B test analysis to make data driven decision

5. Good communication with research/development/product partner teams both locally and overseas

6. Track frontier CV algorithm development, apply advanced techniques onto the product, technical sharing with the team




The required qualifications are:

1. Computer Vision Master or PHD degree, or have 3+ year industry computer vision related project experience in image classification/recognition/search/deep learning/video/OCR etc.

2. 3+ years machine learning experience

3. Great programing skills, familiar with MapReduce/Spark/Parameter Server etc. large scale distribution computing platform

4. Prefer to have experience on development on common vision toolkits Caffe/TensorFlow/CNTK/OpenCV etc.

5. Passion for making user impact and high quality products.

6. Great communication, self-driven, result-oriented, and an optimistic spirit




Our developers work on every aspect of the development process including generating feature proposals, designing them, implementing them, shipping them and analyzing data from live production data to improve and innovate further. You will need to be agile, able to jump into any piece of code, learn the latest and best in-house and open source technologies to deliver innovation quickly and with high quality. We also encourage role rotation which means you will have a chance if you wish to try different parts from core engineering to machine learning to user experience development if you choose.
