Job Description

Line Supervisor/Manager: Site Manager
Technical Authority: DGSC QHS&E Manager

Principal Purpose:
To support the Site Manager in providing efficient and cost effective implementation and management of site quality system.

  1. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
    1. Minimum Qualifications
      Certificate; Engineering Craft or equivalent or recognised craft apprenticeship
    2. Preferred Qualifications
      Degree in Quality/Engineering.
    3. Experience
      2 years in Quality Function
      5 years in Mechanical and Power Industry Sector

  2. KEY COMPETENCIES
    1. Knowledge and understanding of BS EN ISO 9000 series quality standard
    2. Knowledge and understanding of Doosan Babcock quality system
    3. Knowledge and understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g. ASME 1)
    4. Knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental obligations as related to products and services
    5. Effective application of BS EN ISO 9000 series quality standard
    6. Effective application of Doosan Babcock quality system
    7. Effective application of relevant codes and standards (e.g. ASME 1)
    8. Effective application of Health, Safety and Environmental obligations as related to products and services
    9. Knowledge, understanding and effective application of audit requirements
    10. Effective communication skills
    11. Effective report writing skills
    12. Effective document management
    13. PC skills

  3. KEY DUTIES
    1. Actively promote quality system awareness
    2. Carry out site quality inductions for all site personnel
    3. Prepare quality technical schedules, quality plans and site-specific quality procedures for review and approval by Principal Quality Leader
    4. Review subcontractor quality plans and procedures
    5. Control receipt, registration and issue of contract approved documentation, which has an impact on quality
    6. Prepare and implement audit schedules for subcontractor works
    7. Identify non-conformances and expedite corrective and preventative measures in a timely manner
    8. Raise technical queries when appropriate and ensure feedback to function concerned
    9. Review and maintenance of adequate quality records
    10. Management of site “quality” resources
    11. Investigation and resolution of site quality problems
    12. Liaison with client representative to establish customer satisfaction/complaint
    13. Monitoring and reporting of quality performance to Principal Quality Leader at required intervals
    14. Monitoring and reporting of Supplier and Subcontractor performance
    15. Regular and effective communications with site management on quality issues
    16. Evaluation of quality system processes and recommendation of improvements

  4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
    1. Provide efficient and cost effective implementation of site quality management system in accordance with contract requirements and Company procedures
    2. Provide “value added” input to quality system improvement processes
    3. Provide effective resolution to site quality problems
    4. Achieve tasks and targets set by line manager
    5. Achieve tasks and targets set by function head “Technical Authority”
    6. Maintain the Professional Development Record (PDR)
