As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for executing service work with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and by ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Delivering quality customer service to satisfy customers, for Process Automation Business Area in Guangzhou, China.
Reporting to the Service Team Leader, you will take actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.
Your responsibilities
- Performing Service tasks like installation and commissioning of equipment and routine maintenance independently, identifying technical problems, and analyzing remote or on-site activity in different Service categories (installation and commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions, replacements, etc.)
- Contributing to customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Maintaining a good relationship with customers. Identifying new sales opportunities and communicating them internally
- Coordinating, preparing, and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities
- Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative.
- Reporting work is done promptly and follows up when needed
- Troubleshooting simple equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future
- Providing recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service
- Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. Reporting unsafe practices and incidents
Your background
- 3 years of working experience in marine or machinery, working in difficult environment (temperature, noise, dirt)
- Executing a risk assessment on site, briefing with crew member on ongoing other activities and instruction for board equipment
- Collecting information about other turbochargers installed on site, informing service coordinator
- A High school or above degree
- Good communication skill with fluency in English speaking, self -motivated
- Acceptance of field working environment and travel requirements
- Supporting service availability targets (24/7 service availability)
