This role is placed in the On Market Technical Functions, which is part of the Pharmaceutical Technology & Development (PT&D) organization. The On Market Technical Functions provide the expert technical support for AstraZeneca commercial products. It is a multi-skilled organization who provide technical support and expertise related to drug product formulation, manufacture, process engineering, statistics, modelling, devices and testing.

The role will be based in Gärtuna, Sweden or in Macclesfield, UK. You will be part of a global organization in constant development where you will play a significant role in creating an organization prepared for future challenges.

Main duties and responsibilities
In this role you will lead and coach a team of people focused on providing support for data analytics, coaching direct reports for enhanced performance and individual development on an ongoing basis. You will continuously develop your knowledge in new technologies and tools relevant to statistics and data analysis.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coach and mentorship of the team in the area of data analytics pertaining to the team core responsibilities
• Develop and support the strategy for the delivery of data analytics support and its application in collaboration with relevant subject matter experts
• Provides statistical expertise to support critical products and projects. 
• Collaborate with key sponsors, stakeholders and customers to ensure optimal support for data analytics

Essential Requirements

• Strong statistics background with application in a commercial manufacturing or testing environment
• MSc or PhD in statistics or similar discipline with elements of statistics
• 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience with a MSc or 7+ years of experience with a PhD degree and have professional credibility within the business and industry
• Expert user of at least one statistical package (Minitab, SAS, R)
• Excellent communication skills and relationship building with customers

Desirable Requirements

• Demonstrated people leadership and development skills
• Excellent understanding of the overall drug product development and commercialization process from development, launch and through life cycle management
• Previous experience and training in Lean and six sigma, problem solving tools
