Our West Chester Supply Site is a very dynamic and growing manufacturing site within the AstraZeneca Global Operations network and is located just north of Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to serving as the global COVID vaccine production site for AstraZeneca, the West Chester site encompasses Bulk API Microsphere manufacturing, Aseptic Pharmaceutical Formulation, multi-line Isolator/Barrier Vial and Syringe Filling, and specialty Packaging Operations for Vials and Auto-Injectors that supports growing franchises in Diabetes, Respiratory, and Vaccines. Our site is one of 30 production facilities in 18 countries with over 700 people collaborating to connect powerful medications to patients in more than 60 countries around the world. The Sr. Supply Chain Analyst (SCA) is responsible to support the AstraZeneca West Chester (WCH) Supply Chain team though build out of reporting capabilities to facilitate execution of planning and buying functions at WCH. The SCA will design, implement, and maintain visual reporting standards in accordance with supply related KPIs. The Sr. SCA is an active member of the WCH Supply process, with daily interactions with internal customers (Operations, Finance, Quality) and external customers (Global Supply Functions).
Additionally, the SCA will manage product lifecycle supply projects. Such projects may include the introduction of new manufacturing materials, management controls, implementation of finished good packaging changes, and transfer of products to and from WCH.
The Sr. SCA will be required to lead via influence (peers and management). In the role, the SCA will be required to assess the current state condition, define the future sate, and establish a continuous improvement plan. This individual will then be responsible for driving a cross functional team to support execution and ultimate implementation.
What you'll do:
Monday-Friday role
Data Analysis (implementation of standard measurement systems)
- Develop specific business process analysis and reporting to support simplification efforts
- From analysis, select specific follow on actions to help improve current ways of working
- Lead root cause analysis of variance against Supply Chain metrics
- Report KPI’s to Supply Chain Leadership Team for relevant weekly/monthly reviews
- Drive management decision-making through use of organizational data flow
Project Management (supply continuity)
- Manage product lifecycle projects ensuring supply continuity
- Establish and lead cross functional teams to support implementation of new materials
- Manage Request for Change (RFC) & Change Control (CC) to facilitate implementation of material or supply chain changes
- Support new product introduction activities, as required
Essential for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience within operations, supply chain, finance, or project management
- Ability to work independently and professionally in a cGMP-regulated environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong knowledge of production supply chain principles
- Customer-focused mindset, with strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve desired business results
- Good interpersonal and project management/coordination skills required
- Must be analytical, assertive, detail oriented, highly disciplined, independent, and able to prioritize with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated high-level attention to detail
Desirable for the role:
- Proficient with SAP functionality, data extraction, and visualization
- Detailed knowledge Material Resource Planning (MRP) and Advanced Planning Systems related to pharmaceutical production processes
- Knowledge of cGMPs, SHE, SOX policies and regulations
- Ability to understand and apply Lean principles
- Experience with change management
- Knowledge of inventory control
