PRIMARY FUNCTION

Achieves TSS and Target financial goals and objectives by partnering with HQ leadership, sourcing teams, clients and vendors. Coaches and manages team to ensure program goals and objectives are met. Responsible for managing vendors, program execution and information on product trends and business opportunities for assigned product categories and geographic markets.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team and Self Development

? Actively involved in identifying training and development opportunities/programs for team

? Coaches, motivates and develops direct reports

? Acts as a team leader, including setting the team’s vision and building a strong team spirit and Fast, Fun and Friendly environment

? Manages and reviews the performance of the team assessing potential for growth and identifying career path

? Educates the HQ TSS team on product trends and country-specific import/export processes and regulations

Business Development

? Manages marketplace knowledge and product expertise to ensure team is conducting market research and competitor analysis for specific product categories

? Identifies and communicates product category opportunities and trends to client

? Sources new factories and vendors in order to meet future business needs

? Provides Director of Sourcing and Target product managers relevant information to ensure objectives are distributed to the best potential vendors/markets

? Maximizes cross-functional partnerships to ensure production meets Target objectives

? Participates in long-term and short-term sourcing strategies to support overall business growth

Vendor/Supplier Relations

? Manages vendor matrix set-up/maintenance and appropriate action items based on new and changing business conditions

? Establishes and maximizes key vendor relationships to ensure development of business strategies to meet Target standards

? Ensures vendors are trained and coached on standard procedures, best methods, all vendor compliance requirements and vendor performance assessment

? Ensures that product trends are translated into high quality/well priced product

? Monitors trade impact on business

? Oversees Placement Meetings with vendors to ensure all requirements are communicated and comprehended

Program Management

? Manages program execution and ensures flawless process for business under direct responsibility

? Works with CFT managers and supervisors to develop strategies for issue resolution related to product quality and on-time delivery

? Proactively analyze and manage available reports weekly/monthly to ensure business remains in line with Merchandising strategies and sales trends

Communication and Negotiation

? Keeps all relevant parties abreast of new processes and best methods for specified merchandise categories with emphasis on procedures, vendor capabilities, price movements, competitor activity and financial performance

? Oversees price negotiations between TSS HQ and vendors for desired quality/design/trend, delivery and pricing objectives

Brand management

? Ensures compliance of all Target standards

? Behaves everyday with integrity and trust

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

? 4 year University degree

? 10 years sourcing, merchandising and/or retail experience

? Excellent communication skills in English and local office language

? Proven leadership ability, including team management and development

? Knowledge of US retail industry and global economics

? Product expertise in 2 – 3 categories

? Ability to think strategically and conceptually

? Strong problem solving, negotiation, planning and organizational skills

? Excellent interpersonal skills

? Results-oriented, self-motivated, dedicated, enthusiastic and energetic

? Ability to travel locally and internationally

Desired Requirements:

? Experience working for U.S. retailer

? Technical knowledge of assigned product categories

? Eligible to work in designated country without sponsorship

? Experience with trading or buying office

? Experience working with culturally diverse team members

? Market knowledge of assigned geographic areas
