As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will be responsible for consulting and designing software machinery applications for Servo Drives, Motion Control, in Motion Business Area in Nanjing, China.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager II-OEM Solutions, you will be commissioning and verification of solutions at customer site.

Your responsibilities

• Working in conjunction with sales team, support Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) machinery automation related applications using ABB Drive and Motion products. Including system configuration, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & motion controller programming, application consulting, customer training, machine servo commissioning etc
• Assisting customer design machine control concepts, architectures, automation topology, system integration and safety with multiple ABB products including Servo/Motors and controls
• Designing and delivering nonstandard HW solutions such as panels and mounting plates
• Consulting and designing software machinery applications for Servo Drives, Motion Control
• Commissioning and verification of solutions at customer site.
• Solution and package training capability for regional sales and channel partners
• Exchanging knowledge of application and best practices with global PG teams
• Using and maintaining visit reports in ABB customer relations tool to record and report activities for understanding customers types and locations

Your background

• 8 years of working experience with 3 years of experience in design or engineering related to electrical/electronic products and experience in Automation Technical support
• Strong experience of motion drives and controllers as well as servo motors and system-level understanding of motion applications and software tools associated with Motion control.
• Technical knowledge of motion control, servo drives & motor, PLC&HMI, encoders, sensors etc. and good understanding of different types of mechanical systems would be appreciated.
• Master or bachelor’s degree in Automation, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• Good English and Chinese communication skills (reading and writing)
• Proactive attitude and willing to take challenges and encouraging & motivating the whole team to do so.
• Willingness to travel domestically and regionally frequently
