• Support new development projects from conception to implementation.
• Working with design consultants and interpreting conceptual material to develop innovative, well-engineered production solutions.
• Awareness of cost implications of part production methods, considering the broader picture of target overall product cost.
• Familiar with construction engineering drawing, good understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and traditional tolerance, knows the precondition and methods of fulfill tolerance requirements
• Solid knowledge and experience in with different materials and its manufacturing processes also the surface finishing methods

6. Develop parts and products to meet the appropriate International Ergonomic and Safety Standards, and Herman Miller’s internal performance requirements

7. Develop engineering specifications and documentation that clearly define product criteria, design intent, and performance requirements

8. Ensure that all documentation is prepared and supplied with all drawing changes in accordance with the Engineering Change Order () procedure.

9. Building relationships with all the operational teams to continually refine and improve the process of reducing time-to-market opportunities. The candidate will be required to travel to suppliers frequently.

10. Commissioning of samples or prototype spend associated with assigned projects.

11. Working with internal departments and outside consultants on the resolution of engineering issues. Working with vendors in development of production parts.

12. Provide project activity direction to project support team.

13. Clear problem solving - identify problem, select solution, implement solution, evaluate solution.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in mechanical engineering or product design with engineering content

• 3 �C 6 years experience in product development role, preferably with understanding and experience in office furniture, especially seating and desking system. Has understanding in program management.

• Good capacity of using below Software: CAD: Pro/Engineer, Solidworks and AutoCAD ; CAE: AnSYS Mechanical Pro (advantage) ; MS Office suite.

• Good oral and written English skills.
