Salary: From £38,000 – 47,000 (depending on experience) + bonus and benefits including healthcare and pension.

2 year fixed term contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the European Pet Nutrition Dry, Care & Treats R&D in the Process Development team. The 2 year fixed term contract is available due to the recent increase in growth, which in particular is creating the need for extra capacity in the network. 
The purpose of the job is to be the R&D lead for processing technology projects including complex new process design and development, from concept through to implementation in our factory network. The role holder will be working closely with our other regional R&D and Engineering colleagues, as well as our site teams.

What are we looking for?

Essential

• 3-5 years’ experience in managing and leading R&D projects in a fast-paced FMCG environment 
• Process technology expertise in food manufacturing/FMCG
• Experience in factory deployment of products and/or technology

Desirable

• University degree in a relevant technical discipline e.g. science or engineering
• Experience in cooker extrusion technology
• Six sigma/lean experience

What would be your key responsibilities?

• R&D lead for process technology projects that involve complex new process design and development, from concept through to implementation in our factory network. 
• Working closely with our supply/engineering colleagues to deliver increased capacity within the factory network by leading process development on capacity/capital projects.
• Lead in assessing the implications of the process solution for the supply business model. 
• Accountable for the development of the process solutions at pilot scale and scale up of these into factory solutions. Includes leading commissioning of new global innovation processes in European supply sites. 
• Effective management and timely delivery of a portfolio of projects, ensuring key risks are identified and managed.
