Position: Senior Marketing Manager – Renal Care Western Europe (WE).

Summary of role:
The purpose of this role is to manage the WE marketing activities, to develop and implement tools and programs for use by country marketing teams and to drive the implementation of commercial effectiveness initiatives towards direct sales representatives / distributors to accelerate profitable sales. They partner with the countries to provide strong marketing leadership
The position will report to the WE Renal Marketing Director. It will also support the Renal Head in Commercial Excellence initiatives, in close cooperation with the WE Commercial Excellence organization at regional and country level. Travel expected for ≈ +/- 25% of the time, within WE.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as primary WE marketing contact point for country teams and distributors for renal core products.
- Represent WE in the Renal product leadership team (GBU driven) and ensure that branding efforts, tools and programs reflect regional market needs
- Support the following marketing activities for his/her portfolio:
- Ensure alignment, harmonization, endorsement, commitment and execution of agreed Global Business Unit / regional strategies
- Encourage, coordinate, and facilitate the exchange of best practices
- Provide commercial insights to countries. Provide training and coaching on International marketing plans, standards and requirements, and provide voice of Country feedback to enhance corporate processes and programs
- Escalate/ manage/ coordinate crisis issues with key Global Business Unit leaders / cross functional teams including country business unit head.
- Facilitate integration/ alignment of Medical Affairs, education, global supply and Market Development/Access activities with marketing strategies, including tender management and cross-functional tender facilitation
- Coordinate and execute agreed regional events and programs e.g. Market Research, Advisory Boards, Medical Training, Regional Congresses, Peer to Peer events.
- Ensure that agreed commercial strategies and tactics have buy- in and alignment with country and Global Business Unit leadership and key functional stakeholders (e.g. Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access and Supply Chain, Finance at country and Global Business Unit level as required)
- Fully support Quarterly Sales Operations Review (QSOR) process and other commercial excellence initiatives in close collaboration with the Western Europe leadership team, the Renal Marketing & Strategy lead and members of Baxter´s Commercial Excellence Organization.
- Develop and implement rigorous product launch / country readiness programs including pre-marketing and pre-launch activities to ensure commercial success & deliver differentiated value propositions
- Build lasting relationships with key opinion leaders and gain insights from them for use in developing novel segmentation, targeting and positioning of the products
- Provide product, technical and competitive knowledge to increase competency and effectiveness of country marketing teams, sales representatives and distributors
- Ensure adherence to pricing strategies for assigned product lines
- Manage the expense budget of his/her area of responsibility.
- Manage any related projects / tasks needed for the success of the Western Europe Renal Care business unit.
Required education & experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of Marketing/Commercial experience in the Medical Device industry required; familiarity with renal dialysis in center / home environment is a clear advantage
- Preferred: regional / international marketing experience.
- Master’s degree, MBA is a plus
- Proven track record of successfully leading product launches, of market penetration and market growth programs
- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and collaboration skills as well as critical thinking & project management skills
- Advanced marketing knowledge in various of the following disciplines is required:

- Segmentation, Targeting and Messaging
- Digital & Interactive Marketing
- Brand Management
- Health Economics
- Pricing and Value Messaging
- Decision Analytics
- Executing strategic plans
- KOL management programs
- Experience in Sales/Sales Management and/or driving Commercial Effectiveness initiatives in the Medical Device industry is a major advantage.
- May have to provide some product training as needed.
- Proven track record of operating successfully in a matrix, cross functional, and geographically disperse team environment is a major plus
- Experience in integrating Market Development/Access techniques including pricing, reimbursement and extended stakeholder engagement into Marketing plans/initiatives is a plus
Critical requirements
- Very good spoken and written English
- Solid knowledge of the medical device sector (highly experience desired)
- Mandatory: minimum 5-7 years of medical device marketing with proven results.
- International marketing experience will be considered an asset.
- Strong business acumen
- Strong strategic thinking coupled with strong execution skills
