The Academic Registry is one of the crucial administrative functions providing best-practice academic and student related administration in support of the University’s mission in teaching, research and social-economic development of Hong Kong.
Reporting directly to the Academic Registrar, the Senior Manager (Quality Assurance and Enhancement) is a key position in the University’s Academic Registry and a member of the Registry management team. The post-holder needs to be an experienced higher education administrator with a track-record of successfully managing and delivering efficient and fit-for-purpose administrative services. He/She should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to manage and oversee the work of staff, as well as effectively liaise with colleagues across the University.
The appointee is expected to contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality Registry services and the adoption of best-practice processes and systems that take the Registry to the next level of success. Key responsibilities include managing and contributing to the secretariat function, providing professional support for specified University committees, including the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Studies (CUS) and the Committee on Teaching and Learning Quality (CTLQ); supporting, contributing to and chairing subgroups/working groups; overseeing the academic administration of University curriculum/courses in consultation with Schools/departments and academic support units; acting as gatekeeper and institutional advisor on matters of academic regulations; driving the University's quality assurance strategies and enhancing procedures and documentation for the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) Audit of the University; developing the University's Action Plan to address the recommendations of the QAC Audit Report and overseeing its implementation; contributing to other key statutory exercises (such as the Planning Exercise) and managing the production of University-wide publications/websites, the Annual Reporting Exercise on Teaching and Learning, Taught Postgraduate Program reviews and School accreditation/external reviews.
Applicants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree with substantial years of relevant work experience within University administration. Experience of the Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions student system is desirable. Excellent and demonstrable leadership, management, technical, analytical, decision-making, communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills are required. Proficiency in both English and Chinese is required. Relevant work experience in Hong Kong will be a definite advantage.
Appointment to the position will normally be on two-year fixed term contract basis, renewable on mutual agreement. Competitive remuneration and fringe benefits, including housing allowance where appropriate, will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
