Our Position

Reporting to the Director of Payer Engagement and Strategic Partnerships, you hold a critical strategic position within AstraZeneca Canada accountable for the development and execution of the National payer engagement strategy for AstraZeneca’s Infectious Disease portfolio to facilitate optimized patient access of our life changing medicines through public and private reimbursement and ensure that high-risk infants are protected from the devastating threat of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

  • Lead, develop and execute regional stakeholder engagement and policy strategies for our Infectious disease brands aligned with Market Access/Pricing strategies to facilitate optimized public and private reimbursement

  • Lead engagement with provincial RSV program leads to implement policy/guideline amendments to improve access through optimized criteria

  • Build strategic and long-term partnerships with relevant influencers and decision makers involved with RSV immuno-prophylaxis programs identifying strategic business opportunities and delivering innovative solutions

  • Identify and engage with potential regional partners with complementary and aligned strategic plans to explore value-creating opportunities

  • In collaboration with Market Access Strategy and Medical, lead the execution of early payer engagement meetings to discuss clinical and economic value propositions of priority brand

  • Collaborate in the development of the payer value brand propositions to drive optimal implementation of reimbursement strategies

  • Through multi-stakeholder engagement (drug plan managers, KEEs, patient groups, etc.) provide ongoing regional/national insights to inform and harmonize cross-functional strategies and reimbursement strategies

  • As a key member of the brand team, provide guidance as SME on field related input into commercial strategies

  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration with field colleagues to align respective strategies to support reimbursement objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree/Advanced degree in science, economics, social sciences or business

  • 7-10 years of Pharmaceutical experience, with a minimum 5 years market access experience (market access, government affairs, marketing, sales, medical) with a proven track record of success

  • Experience leading projects that involve cross functional collaboration

  • Experience developing and executing payer engagement strategies

  • Previous vaccines or infectious diseases related experience is a strong asset

  • Network of national/regional Payer/KEE contacts and in-depth knowledge of stakeholder networks is highly desirable

  • Fluency in English and French is preferred

  • High degree of initiative and sense of urgency with an ability to manage multiple priorities of significant scope in a fast-paced environment
