In this vital role you will lead a global team responsible for developing solutions and designing automated actions to accelerate the validation, containment, eradication, and remediation of security incidents. You will manage services, solutions and employees in a manner directly aligned with Amgen’s culture, principles, and core values.

The Senior Manager is expected to contribute to and deliver services and solutions that support the mission, priorities, and objectives of Amgen’s Global Information Protection team. You will:

  • Develop strategy and continuous improvement for Global Incident Management Program in accordance with industry frameworks
  • Oversee day to day operations and people management of the Security Development and Automation team
  • Prioritize the backlog of innovative solutions that bridge technology, process, and human input to accelerate the response to escalated security incidents.
  • Provide direction and guidance for direct reports by establishing and maintaining comprehensive professional development plans
  • Ensure SLA compliance and process consistency to achieve operational objectives
  • Work closely with other security stakeholders to better understand opportunities and coordinate efforts
  • Manage a library of response plans to common information security threats, performing regular updates as security tools, security controls, and the Threat Landscape changes.
  • Ensure operational excellence of security orchestration, automation, and response platforms and supporting infrastructure
  • Ensure timely and effective identification of anomalies and drive continuous improvement of existing scripts and subtasks that enable broader playbook execution

  • Prior personnel and service delivery management experience
  • Working experience in programming, CI/CD and Agile / DevOps environment
  • Excellent organization/planning skills and talent for managing many large and sophisticated solutions
  • Technical curiosity with strong logical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experienced in best-practice developer methodologies including documentation, version control, and code review
  • Must be team-oriented, placing priority on the successful completion of team goals
  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative
  • Practical Knowledge of Information Security standards and policies like ISO 27001/27002, NIST, and others
  • Preferred certifications:
    • CISSP, CISM, CIPP, GPEN, GWAPT, SANS GIAC/GSEC
    • CEHSACA CRISC, CISA, CISM, ISC2 SSCP, CISSP

Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree & 5 years of directly related experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of directly related experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 15 years of directly related experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 20 years of directly related experience
