The Rhode Island site is a multi-product, flexible manufacturing site. We’re looking for highly motivated individuals that aspire to be future leaders as we continue this journey and expand our site operations.
Reporting to E-Shift F&E Utilities Manager, the Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for operating utility systems and performing maintenance activities throughout the ARI site. The position is on a regular Monday-Friday operations day shift.
Specific duties include:
- Operate a variety of general and pharmaceutical grade utility systems (Refrigeration, HVAC, Boilers, chillers, compressed air, purified water systems, waste systems and gases)
- Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance and repair activities on complex equipment and systems used across the ARI site
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems
- Identify equipment performance opportunities and recommends improvements to the maintenance program owners
- Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner and with quality
- Work in a highly productive and efficient manner to maximize the quantity of activities completed
- Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and cGMP’s
- Ensure work is appropriately communicated to system operators and key stakeholders
- Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely
- Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assisting with implementation
- Maintain a safe work environment through adherence to safety guidelines and policies
- Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall team performance
- Perform utilities operational and maintenance activities with minimal guidance
- Serves as a mentor to his/her peers in his responsibilities
- Provide coaching, guidance, be a trainer to his/her colleagues in the operation and maintenance of the utilities systems
- Lead by example and create a positive, respectful, professional and consistent work environment at all times
- Provide on time and accurate communication of issues and updates/reports as necessary
- Provide support when required - this may be outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Other tasks as assigned
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintenance activities are executed safely, right the first time, in timely manner and per applicable procedures
- Issues and opportunities that are observed are reported in a timely manner
Measurement of Key Responsibilities:
- No lost time injuries or near miss incidents for me
- Minimal rework for maintenance activities executed by me
- Labor hours expended are appropriate for job
- All activities are completed per procedure
- All observed issues are reported in a timely manner
Basic Qualifications
Associate’s degree and 4 years of Maintenance experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years Utilities systems/mechanical experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
Rhode Island Refrigeration Journeyperson I or II License
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams
Strong computer skills
Rhode Island Electrical knowledge/license
Rhode Island Boiler operator knowledge/license
Ability to provide guidance and technical advice to others
