The appointees are expected to teach a range of courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students in i) English for Specific Purposes (ESP) including English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or ii) Chinese communication for Cantonese speakers and Cantonese for non-native speakers. They should have experience in teaching advanced learners with a range of modes including digital education. The appointees will also be active members within the discipline of language education as evidenced through participation in relevant conferences, the production of language teaching materials, or other forms of published scholarly work. Appointees teaching English should be able to teach within discipline-specific courses.
Applicants should have a first degree, a master’s degree in TESOL or Chinese Teaching, applied linguistics or language education and preferably a recognized language teaching qualification. Experience in teaching English/Chinese at tertiary/senior secondary level is required. The ability to teach a second language is desirable, in particular: Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French or German. Preference will be given to applicants with or in the process of pursuing a PhD/EdD. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to give a presentation/sample teaching as part of the interview. (Duration: 2 or 3 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
